My love for dance started during the early stages of my life. I trained in Bharatha-natyam and Modern Indian dance with a talented and graceful classical Indian teacher. I performed publicly in concerts and private functions for many years. I also began looking to other forms of dance but I could not find the same passion I had for Indian dance. “Bollywood”, after some searching, found its soul mate which now equally has a share of my heart.
Belly Dance:
I was first introduced to this beautiful and graceful art form in 2005 and I quickly mastered the art of this dance. After a while, I began teaching the class as an associate teacher.
This was short lived as I had to relocate to Johannesburg. I sadly bid farewell to my students and began searching for a dance continuum. I studied with many local dance schools but grounded myself with Aviva from Dancers of the Desert. I am eternally grateful to her for guiding and nurturing me to become the professional dancer that I am today. She is still my mentor and good friend.
I have completed all student levels of Aviva’s classes and moved onto completing her teacher training. I performed professionally for Aviva’s studio and privately on many occasions. Intermittently I teach Bellyrobics at well renowned gyms, Virgin Active and Planet Fitness. I strive to attend numerous workshops with local and international dancers to continuously perfect my skills.
It is now that I have moved on to open my very own dance studio.
